Anybody here tried and stuck with meditation? Curious to see if it's good cope or not.

I do metta meditation 3-4 times a weed. I used to do mindful meditation every day but it made me feel weird

I read a book on it years ago and it was better than a lot of information I found.

For one thing, don't sit cross-legged, just sit in a straight backed chair you can relax your body in. Then count to ten for each breath, in and out.

1 in through the nose
2 out through the mouth
repeat after you hit ten

eyes closed, of course, and don't hyperventilate, just take relaxing breaths, like sighs almost

eventually you just start thinking about those breaths, and they get so slow, then you just kinda... blank.

It's really more about taking calm, even breaths.

Yep. Quite ineresting. You get a fuzzy feeling if you do it right but you must relax and focus or it will fade.
 
Strange the time stamps of every post in this thread have moved from a date in a more distant past to yesterday.
 
I can really recommend getting into mantras. It's more relaxing than smoking and healthier at that. For example the Hare Krishna mantra.
