Any of you currycels live in a chawl?

I was playing Hitman and in the Mumbai level I was introduced to the concept of chawls. Ngl the concept of small apartments looks kinda cozy for a single incel like me, if it were cheap and community were respectful and clean I'd def live there. Much better than sharing apartment with strangers. However knowing India probably chawls are a huge mess full of fire hazards, trash and constant loud noise kek. And very likely, instead of one person per apartment there are entire families living there. I can see this concept working well in places like Japan or South Korea where people are very respectful of others, maybe it already exists with a different name?

Btw when I was playing the game, I was imagining comradecuck29 larping as Lebanese from a 2009 Toshiba laptop in his chawl

Chawls were build from the 1920s to 50s for industrial workers, you'd not want to be anywhere near these decrepit buildings plus they probably don't exist anymore and I've never been near them or seen one first hand, just read nor do I want to be anywhere near slumbai
