No, my country has always been liberal. My favorite "dictator" is Oliver Cromwell and Kim Il-Sung tho.

In Brazil, we had this chubby guy right here, Getúlio Vargas. He overthrew the agrarian oligarchy, modernized the country, and led us through WWII. Since you seem to love history, he's definitely worth checking out

Vargas is similar to Franco in Spain or Salazar in Portugal. He betrayed the Fascist movement and created his own strongman state. Though, he was an effective leader who managed to modernize and develop Brazil.

Porfirio Diaz.

Vargas wasn't a clerical fascist like Salazar or Franco. I mean, one of his sons was literally named Lutero (Portuguese for Luther). :lul:

Based, That's what still needs to be done in mine.

Sadly, all the dictators in my country were henchmen in the service of foreign powers; they did nothing to benefit the country they led.

Everyone except perhaps Juan Manuel de Rosas, but he's from the 19th century, not the 20th.

Is he based?

Metaxas was a dictator.

Zero. They're gynocentric soys. Everything they do is for their wives.

Ferenc Szálasi

Seriously, man? Canada didn't even declare a state of emergency for, like, a week? My country is currently on its seventh constitution

Nothing that I know of

Thoughts on Horthy
He was too lenient, also fled to Portugal after the war in order to avoid being prosecuted (while he wasn't acquitted at Nuremberg, communist jews held sham trials in Budapest to execute supposed war criminals), at the same time hungarists were martyred

Hungary managed to advance a lot during that era but it is also responsible for our downfall thanks to it's multiethnic nature

The million-dollar question: how did Imperial officers give orders during WW1?
