During the medieval period, Jews were often excluded from many professions and economic opportunities, particularly in Christian-majority societies. Important to note, Christianity prohibited its followers from engaging in usury (lending money with interest), which led Christian merchants and bankers to avoid this practice. However, Jewish religious laws did not prohibit usury, making lending money with interest one of the few economic roles available to Jews under these circumstances. Therefore, if you are anti-Semitic, you should reconsider your views, as the roles Jews were forced into, like money lending (and the related accusations of exploitation), were a result of Christian restrictions, not something they chose.
