No, that explanation is too simplistic. It has to be something more than that, because this apparent lack of self-awareness seems to be a universal trait.
I'm leaning towards giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking that this is simply their natural evolutionary deception at work. They must be banking on most men not realizing their seeming lack of self-awareness and just accepting what they're saying because she assumes (correctly most of the time) that men want her pussy.
