I was taking a walk and this stray cat rubbed up against me. It purred when I petted it. I haven't gotten this kind of validation, this kind of affection from any human being my whole life. Humans despise me, recognize what a loathsome creature I am, but animals like dogs and cats don't seem to notice or care.

I'm thinking of getting a pet- I don't have a lot of space so maybe something like a rabbit? Just an idle thought.

You should get a rat. They are very loving and if you are nice to them they can really trust you. You mentioned not having a lot of space but thats fine for rats, just get them a decentish sized cage and take them out once a day and they will be good. You have to spend time with them and keep them with at least one other rat though because they will get very depressed if they're by themselves. But really though they are like mini dogs if they get to know you enough. My rats always try to climb on my lap and lick me. They will even stay and lie in bed with me if I accidentally fall asleep with them on me.

Cats are awesome. My cat loves me for who I am which is more than can be said for any person in my life.
