I think the next step is China is going to more strongly and openly get behind Russia. Like huge amounts of Chinese weaponry, ammunition and money flowing to help Russia in the war.

Perhaps most problematic is if China is willing to help Russia with long range cruise missiles. Like for China building 10,000 long range cruise missiles is no big deal. The cruise missiles have ~1,200km+ range and we have seen the air defenses can't really stop them.
