lol this is a follow-up to my Windows thread I guess XD

Anywho I'll make the poll. I have pretty old versions of Android so they probably work different and also may well not receive updates anymore.

only if you want to install it then ofc it needs a reboot to install, but if i don't want to install it then it wouldn't force it

Maybe I get left alone because my versions of Android on the two phones I've been using are both old.

My amazon fire tablet forced updates, and the last update was so bad that I couldn't take it anymore and went ape mode on the tablet

Not the new fire OS man. You can't goon anymore with it. I used to jerk off with one hand while holding the device with the other and scrolling, but now, they eliminated the fast scroll option, so it took forever to scroll among my 1500 pics. Plus. they made it so you can't just swipe down from a pic to go back to gallery and have to press a small button. Fuck whatever asshole redesigned it

lol, that's the thing about updates you never know if it will overall make things better or worse, whether it will reduce or increase the number of bugs/issues, etc.

It's always a bit of a gamble.

Yep. Fuck the assholes that designed it. They caused me to get so frustrated that I flung the device hard into my door and shattered the screen instantly. Can't even see anything, so even though it still turns on, there is no way to get the last bit of my goon stash from it that I hadn't backed up yet on the PC

There might be ways to access the internal memory if you hook it up to a PC. Or to repair the screen idk.

You can't link to PC without going in settings to make it do file transfer, which I can't do because the screen is toast and I can't see shit there. The only way is to try to remove the memory part from inside the thing without damaging it and buy a special tool to read it and put it in PC

Ah wow. Strange isn't it because on a PC you can also live boot Linux from USB and access the storage in that way.

It's amazing how much less freedom and control you have with mobile devices.

I don't know if chatgpt can think of anything but maybe you're right and that's the only way.

Yeah, I looked into it and this seems to be the only way. It might be over for the last 400 or so pictures I had there

My iPhone won't even link to my PC at all anymore. Crazy how incompatible Apple devices are made to be with PCs. Brutal
