However, I thought they all had some measure of justice, however slight, with the conviction and incarceration of Bill Cosby. Then, without much warning, he was released, and the criminal charges were dropped. The reasons are convoluted and legally technical.

The Fifth Amendment is not a technicality, sweaty. A technicality is when a clerk puts the wrong date on a form. Protecting individuals from being compelled to incriminate themselves is not a technicality.
