Watched it in December 2016 when it still wasn't popular and it was pretty disappointing tbh. A story full of tropes that sometimes feels like plagiarism of Spielberg and other sci-fi directors from the 1980s and a shitton of references to pop culture of those years just to appeal the nostalfags kek, worst of all is that most of people who watch that show are millennials born in the 90s and zoomers so it's impossible they really have nostalgia from an era they never lived 
To remember vividly the pop culture and trends of 1980s you should be at least 45 years old (born in late 70s maximum because when you're a young kid you miss a lot of things about society) and I don't know any 40 year old that likes that awful series. Even my cousin who was born in 1978 doesn't like that garbage.
