I think the main reason for his fame is the manifesto he wrote. No other mass shooter wrote such a detailed, personal, emotional and long manifesto (well, there was Unabomber, but his manifesto was more impersonal and his reasons had little to do with inceldom). This and the fact Elliot was decent-looking and had a highly meme-able style and demeanor.

I think the day of the retribution was a completely disgrace. Killing people is already bad enough, but if he at least had killed deserving ones I would be silent. He killed a bunch of ricecels just like him, two ugly Beckies who had nothing to do with the Stacies from the top tier sorority he pathetically failed to break his way into and one kid who had even less to do with his plights.
