Without having a purpose you just become depressed/incoherent and indifferent to everyone else. Literally all that matters in life is doing your purpose day in an day out.

You can also be depressed while having a 'purpose'. In my case, I just set my priorities and purpose in a different place, and it lifted some of the depression. Not having a purpose at all is guaranteed to be ignored/depressed.

you should always have short term purpose even if generic and lacks depth. Simple ones for most here:

• gym max to most potential
• money Maxx to potential
• surgery Maxx to potential
• find spiritual awakening (far harder and longer term)
• Normie Maxx (not possible for most but still some here could do it)
• learn another language to ascend
