Realistically without a body the soul would not have a physical identity.

So when we are born we are playing the characters of the meat suit we were put in.

You're given a name, a family, a specific place to live, and a time in which you are born.

All of these shape and create what you can do in life. Forming a personality and beliefs.

Each body has their own personal tastes and satisfactions. That's why you can't realistically decide what you like or what you don't because it's already pre chosen for you.

Upon shedding our skin (death) we gain and keep the experience of each life we have lived.

Only to get our memory wiped again and put in a new body so as to have the delusion that we are first arriving here.

The soul can still have a personality of it's own, but only after experiencing life in a body playing a character.
 
I am unsure of what it really means. It could just be a time waister if there is nothing outside of the world but a black void.
 
I don't want to believe though that I created this life because this world is awful and evil.

I don't feel a connection to any of it.

It would make sense though because god is nowhere to be found.

However I don't want to live out every life on this planet because after a certain point all lives follow a similar path, they just slightly vary based on situations.

The soul is eternal though, so we basically have no beginning or end. Just like god.

Before this life we existed, and we will always exist after it.

My eyes avatar is malfunctioning, so my eye sight is fucked. The graphics aren't so nice and crisp anymore.

Also, I never was a graphics whore anyway.

Simulation and reincarnation theories are hella interesting.

If we are all just video game characters, then some fuckers out there really chose nightmare mode for us lot. Even if this is a simulation, we exist in some form, as we are thinking and acting of our own will. "I think, therefore I am". Whether we are in base reality, brains in jar, or even if we are just data on a super advanced computer system, I don't think it really matters. This is all we know, and we gotta live with it.

I do like the idea of reincarnation as well. The thought of eternal nothingness after death is almost beyond comprehension. I would like to think that our 'soul', for lack of a better term, is put into another body and we get another go.

Some say the the universe itself is a conscious entity, and all living creatures are just shards of that consciousness, sent out into all corners of the cosmos to experience anything and everything possible. Upon death, the soul is recombined with the hive mind, experiences recorded, and we're sent back out to do it again. Come to think of it, even that sounds like a computer modelling outcomes and running endless simulations. Fascinating shit really.

Reincarnation, basically.

I wouldn't mind suffering in this world for a bit longer, IF I could at least keep my memories to help me walk through the next life with more confidence and also no more fear of death.

The wiping of all memories is the raw deal.

I know from my gaming experience that I always choose the hardest difficulty setting because everything else feels too easy.

It is like I love a challenge. But live does not feel like a challenge.
It feels like a punishment.

I can't imagine being born in some third world country starving to death in the middle of nowhere.

I go back and forth on the theory.

I don't think we chose any of it. I think these bodies are just prisons preventing us from ascending to somewhere better.
