Simping is just a part of male nature. It's downstream the male instinct to protect and provide for women at all costs. It manifests in different ways depending on the culture/era. These days it's in the form of guys giving large donations to e-girls on twitch, buying onlyfans subscriptions, whiteknighting online, etc.

But I'm old enough to remember a pre-terminally online society and simping was common even then. I knew guys who would constantly do favors for and buy things for women and never got anything in return. These women never even spoke to these guys unless they wanted something from them, and yet these guys would always instantly drop whatever they were doing to give m'lady what she wanted or do whatever favor she wanted as quickly as possible.

And in mixed gender social circles, almost every guy I ever knew would act differently whenever the girl(s) were around. Some would act WAY different (always based on whatever they thought would gain the approval of the girl). It's like some of them would become entirely different people like some Jekyll and Hyde shit.
