Do you guys think this is really as bad to do as the soyence says it is?
I've been trying not to do it but its the only way I can fall asleep half the time, like right now I have to be up in 5 hours but Im wide awake shitposting on .is.
I've tried other over the counter shit of course like melatonin but it barely helps.

The effect wears off if abused. Trust me, i'm a certified drunkcunt.

Im just hoping for some copium so I can think its not as bad as they say I guess, obviously its not super healthy but if you are only drinking a moderate amount maybe it isn't too bad?

I drink whiskey, helps get to sleep but results in worse sleep quality

It fucks your sleep, induces anxiety of unprecedented levels and panic attacks. Don't do it, keep it for what it is, a party drug.

Jfl i wanted to try it but ur words might have led me not too.
I already have anxiety trying to even sleep and I dont want to make it worse lol.

Former alcoholcel here.

Alcohol screws with your sleep tremendously in the days and weeks after drinking.

You'll wake up 1-2hours after getting to sleep or 4-5hours. 6 hours if you're lucky. You'll wake up often with panic attacks with your heart racing.

You'll lose motivation to do anything. Your room gets dirtier, you stop doing laundry, you stop grocery shopping, you stop doing errands, stop working out, stop going to work, getting to work late, slacking off, forget shit all the time, can't think straight due to brain fog, etc....

Alcohol may not be as bad as hard drugs but it can make you homeless if you abuse it hard enough and for long enough. Whereas hard drugs get you homeless almost immediately.

yea the anxiety it gives is tremendous especially with the inceldom lifestyle, alcohol isn't very pretty plus there's always an easy chance to slip away into addiction given how lonely we tend to be

yea for me, its the feeling of euphoria and the hours of being pain and worry free while drunk thats addictive

once i get addicted again after relapsing all I ever think about is the next binge drinking session

and i know its gonna be a death spiral after that so I went cold turkey and haven't drank in 3 months

i feel all around better now as far as my mental and physical health but every weekend i feel the urger to drink because of isolation and loneliness.

I guess it depends on how often you do it if rarely then no.

This works well at first. At some point, you become dependent and have to increase the dosage. Then there comes a time when you fall asleep completely drunk and wake up less than five hours later, nervous and shaky...

It works really well at first, but over time it causes more trouble than what it’s worth. As others have already pointed out, abusing it destroys your sleep quality.

I used to do this too and yeah you’ll sleep but it will be shit quality and it made my PTSD nightmares worse.

constant use does make depression worse over time which is why I quit and only drink on weekends now. I switched to weed so if it’s legal where you are I’d say to try that.

6 hours is about what I get normally on days I have to wage slave and I feel equally rested as I do when I fall alseep normally for the same amount of time. I don't get panic attacks, only time I got those is when I mixed alochol and melatonin before I knew you weren't supposed to do that.
It's the difference between getting 1-2 hours of sleep vs 6 hours for me sometimes which is why I do it sometimes but I'll try to cut back.

My sleep quality is shit in general so I can't really tell the difference.

Wtf is your pfp? I think alcohol has reduced your iq points

It's a disgusting and AI is too

If you go with it, you’ll wake up and take probably the longest piss(s) in your life.

And the headache during hangover aren’t worth it, you’ll feel very shitty like extremely shitty to the point you’ll throw up a lot.

I've been doing it on and off for the last year and a half, I never drink enough to where I feel like I want to throw up, I know what I can handle, I did enough binge drinking over the last few years that I have a pretty good tolerance and understanding of how much to drink to get where I want without overdoing it.

Honestly I don't mind the feeling of mild hangovers I think they feel kind of good.

But yeah, the longterm effects are probably bad so I'm going to try to cut if out completely or at least cut back significantly.

It’s good in moderation I had an alcohol problem and almost died from it once I drink occasionally now and when I do it’s usually beer I used to drink whole bottles of liquor to cope.

It's not you double digit post midwit

There’s nothing wrong with drinking a bottle of beer once a week or every 2 weeks it’s a problem if you drink everyday.
There is a lot wrong, and you're wrong, justifying your poor will power doesn't make the act fine double digit poster
