Most of physics is just piggybacking off of other people's work. What einstein did was prove that there is no ether mathematically, after the results of the michelson morley experiment

In high school physics we looked at the Michelson-Morely experiment and they just deduced that their hypothesis on Earth being relative to aether was null and void. They didn’t say anything about the speed of light. We didn’t study the other guys. So I find your claim dubious.

Also Einstein got the Nobel prize for the photoelectric effect, not relativity
