This is something I've been thinking about as of recently. There is a brand of adults, (typically millennials) who base their moral compass on Star Wars. They unironically, base their world view on Star Wars and see everything through a lense of Star Wars allegories. There people will take nuance and complex topics and dumb them down to "rebels vs empire." I don't know if these people realize this, but Star Wars is targeting 12 year old boys. These aren't deep or complex movies. At the time, it was understood that they were targeting the youth. If you take Star Wars seriously and see yourself as a Star Wars protagonist, I'm sorry, but you're retarded.
