I think this is why so many people are nostalgia junkies. I admit, I fall into it every once in a while, too. Being reminded of times when you had high hopes & new exciting experiences can provide a momentary cope. I think most people take it way too far, though. Every generation thinks the era of THEIR youth was the best. They don’t realize they have on the same rose-colored glasses their parents wore when they told tall tales of their youth. So yeah, being an adult sucks ass, which is why most normies are obsessed with reliving their youth in one form or another.
