I've been through many prescriptions for acne, and no matter what I try, my skin is always oily and I have painful cysts all over my body and face. I shower all the time too and it makes no difference.

I feel disgusting and I just want someone to put me out of my misery.

My acne got better once I started showering cold.

Interesting. I like to shower with hot water. Maybe it has something to do with the halogens in the water causing the acne?

I read somewhere that it has to do with the pores.
Warm water opens the pores, which makes it easier for dirt to get into it -> inflamation -> pimples.
Cold water closes the pores.
