I’m not defending abusive fathers but when your father is a violent drunk you usually become parentified from an early age and develop independent living skills. You need to get out and about because at home you aren’t safe in case your father decides to beat you up because you stepped in front of his tv. Because abusive fathers usually don’t want to pay for their kids it means they don’t try to cripple the kid because at the end of the day that would mean more money being spent on their child.
Abusive mothers go out of the way to prevent their little boy ever growing up. Frequently, the child is not allowed to learn to drive or even ride a bike. The mother will do everything she can to get a diagnosis for the child, even going to multiple different doctors until she finds one that agrees her child is disabled. The child will barely have friends because the mother might phone the police and report them missing because they weren’t back home by 6pm. This will eventually contribute to bullying because the retarded mother will become a meme among other kids. Even when the child is an adult, the mother will try to control her baby, for example in her will there will be clauses saying the child’s inheritance (if any) is only accessed by the consent of a social worker or something, or forcing the child to have any benefits signed over to her. Eventually you end up with a 30 year old who has the living skills of a 12 year old.
