You could transfer them to your computer and delete them to create free space. When you check your pics out on a big screen, many details reveal themselves that you didn't saw before. At least for me it gave me a new perspective on how my face looks and so on

Depends how the photo was taken. If you look at youself in the selfie camera/screen camera your head is deformed af, everyone agrees on that. If you see pictures of others from the same angle they also look deformed. Usually you don't see such pictures of others because they look very unfortune and no same person would publish them anywhere.
As you can read somewhere in the reddit post, from a distance the pictures mostly look normal beacuse the fisheye effect isn't applied anymore. I can't really explain it to you, it's just what I experienced from myself and others that the mirror seems to be more accurate.
