AAA worker fatally struck by vehicle after changing tire

MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD — An AAA worker is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in Howard County, according to video and reports.

The incident took place at around 11:30am Thursday on eastbound I-70 in Marriottsville.

Maryland state troopers say 38-year-old Muhammad Shehzad had just finished changing a flat tire on the side of the road when a Chevrolet Colorado struck him and his work vehicle.

The pickup truck then continued to travel off of the right side of the highway, up and over an embankment and into a tree where it came to a stop, a report read.

The driver of the Chevrolet Colorado has been identified as 77-year-old Peter Blakemore of Virginia.

The cause of the crash remains unclear at this time and an investigation is ongoing.

They should have to do a test every year past 65, they definitely have the time. I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't been fit to drive for a decade.
