Norplant was a 5-year, highly effective (over 99%) subdermal contraceptive implant consisting of six levonorgestrel-filled capsules, FDA-approved in 1990. It was discontinued in the US by 2002 and globally by 2008 due to lawsuits regarding undisclosed side effects—principally irregular bleeding, headaches, and removal difficulties—and controversies over coercive use among low-income women. We were able to get rid of one form of contraception. We should get rid of all forms. Perhaps that's not so farfetched given this example. Jesus said, "[W]ith God all things are possible." It's possible to ban contraception.
