It's become glaringly obvious to me that I am autistic. I have... rituals and orderliness routines that have to be fulfilled or I become a fucking trainwreck, ripping out my hair and shit (has happened, fuck my family for purposefully and gleefully trying to trigger me). I wasn't even aware until today that this was part of autism, and I have been complaining about this to family and psych for YEARS now to no avail.
But I know I'm really good at reading body language and faces, and I have an extremely high emotional IQ, which I thought was the opposite of autism (or I would have come to this conclusion sooner). I'm also not a math nerd, and I always associated autism with math/science, and not art/literature.
So I am going to submit the theory that autism does NOT lower your ability to read faces but instead is a condition of being LESS REACTIVE to other people's emotional state. I have an extremely non-expressive face and don't want to put forth the effort to cuckface, etc.
Meanwhile, psychopaths are the ones who cannot read faces, and all normies are psychopaths. Could it be that the normies and doctors are so bad at reading facial expressions (the answer is yes), that they have mischaracterized autism because the responses they are getting do not match what THEY THINK are the actual facial expressions (you do not understand how dumb psychs are if you haven't been around, hospitalized, etc)? Perhaps autists are actual social geniuses who are now coming out in droves as totally rejecting the world. Perhaps we feel disappointed in the world, can read what is going on because we are borderline psychic, and so we appear to be withdrawn when in actuality we are refusing to participate, from a young age, in the shitshow that is modern america. Why would I hang out with psychopathic normies as a 6 year old, when I can sit in my room and play Sonic 1? It makes no sense to spend time with normies.
