One of these numbers things people do is related to "developing countries" who are often referred to as third world. Sometimes people will say a country is, "at best Second World" when originally these first, second, third categories were just about political system. Second world isn't what the third world aspires to, it's communist countries. Laos is a "least developed country" shithole that is second world while its border country of Thailand is more prosperous but third world.
