Some people may wonder why sex before marriage was such a taboo in pre-sexual revolution world. The more retarded ones among us may chalk it up to ignorant religious bigotry, but without understanding why such a thing happened in the first place.
(Note: this only applies for people who believe in the concept of marriage. If you reject marriage as valid social concept itself then it doesn't apply, in which case you were never getting married anyway. But 90% of normies do get married)
All it comes down to is first fundamental principles. What does marriage even mean? Its a social institution which binds the human mating, child rearing and family raising process into one neat package in the context of the greater cultural, social and ethical context of that particular society. So fundamentally marriage is about regulating the mating process.
Thus any sex outside marriage, pre-marital or extra-marital is ante-thetical to marriage as a concept. Since, what's the point of the binding if people do it outside the permeating ethical and social systems thus betraying the first principle. So believing in marriage as a concept and then having sex outside it is logically and ethically contradictory.
If one were to truly believe that sex outside marriage was A-ok. Then one must admit by force that marriage is meaningless.
