When the society doesn't encourage or teach masculinity, when schools shame and ignore what makes a man a man and when the media preaches perverse values, not having a proper father figure leaves boys completely in the dark on the matter. I believe having a good father will shield a boy from the harms I listed for the most part. What this means that boys with and those without a good father figure will be far apart from each other as to having a shot at making it in life.

A program like Hitler youth would be a great step towards real equality as boys would be provided a more even chance at becoming resourceful men.
