What I like to do and has improved my viewing experience. Is whenever I find myself questioning or not understanding something in my head about the show/film I'm watching, I think to myself in a mantra form 'Just watch. Just watch. Just watch. Just watch.' I recommend it for overthinkers.

I happen to do that often as well; though sometimes it's a result of having no subtitles and not being able to hear dialogue...

Though I don't watch many movies/TV shows.
