Yeah! For me, NGE looks better the Rebuilds. Not saying Rebuilds' style sucks though, well except for those CGIs.

Even late 80s animes had that great look and style, while with modern anime it seems it's lost completely, it also have way less detail, it's always rushed and has no charm (for the most part there are still some gems). Now it's always ugly 2d with low budget 3d cgi animation

Something modern animes lacks.

Something about new anime feels like sterilization nothing is raw every scene been reedited in their editing software hundreds of times plus they added so many filters that it looks like a video game now. They also lack of detail compared to old animes or even their manga, they need to rush with deadline to release a new episode. Japan is no longer the 2nd best economy in the world they are on huge decline since 90s and haven't recovered since hell they even got into even bigger shit with weak yen and feminazis that don't want to have kids and just hoe around with chads at host clubs. They will get replaced by Chinks and Koreans at this rate just like chink/korean gachas replaced most nip games. Most animes are just a cheap cashgrab to force people to buy their manga or vn (if it gets adaptation like ATRI)

It had more of a classical futurism from the 80s and the 90s. Ever decade has a type of futurism that differs from decade to decade.

The issue with modern style its that it tend to sacrifice art for animation, like Kakashi in Naruto vs Naruto Shippudden. It ruins the aesthetic and the aura for something childish and boring

Yeah! It seems that japanese soon will be replaced by the chinese and koreans since they can’t keep the rate, even in gaming.

Manga and anime in the 80s, 90s and 00s was just a generational with amazing artist that even the japanese audience acknowledges and admires. It feels likes the japanese manga and anime just lacks the fund to actually produce actually qualities. There are some hidden qualit, but they lack the popularity and is thrown aside by some cheap like Demon Slayer, just lol.

They definitely got more sloppy with it.

The old animes definitely had more art and detail, and much more appreciable.

May not be a total fault of the studio because the manga's art got downgraded in the 2nd part as well.
