I would disagree actually. Men are not getting taller on average anymore. Definitely if you are less than 5'11" you are considered short by women though.

I think people are quite short in general. As i go out as a 5'9 male i see old people, children, teenagers, women, teenage women etc all of those are 99% of the time shorter which means i won't stick out in any way. Even if i would only compare myself to adult females i would still be taller than about 9 out of 10. Against fully grown males i would be shorter than perhaps 2-3 and taller than 1. I don't see why people consider anything below 6'0 short i don't feel short at all. You are only noticably short when you get mogged by kids, old people, females etc and that happens often at below 5'4-5'5~.
