“Might eventually”? How optimistic of you. OP’s source was from 2011, and already 40% of births were from single moms. That was over a decade ago. I don’t have exact data from 2023, but we can extrapolate using this.

So quick math tells us that, if we assume the rate change was constant every year, every year this rate went up by 0.74%. Again, if we assume that this rate was constant, and did not change, 12 years out from 2011 gives us an additional 8.9%. So about 49% of American births are already to single moms. Factor in illegal immigrants who have a higher rate of births out of wedlock along with rampant feminism in the latter half of the 2010s onwards, plus the plandemic/lockdowns, and it’s quite plausible that the majority of US births are ALREADY to single mothers.

I wouldn't say that the rate of single motherhood would be constant. It must have slowed down over time (not saying it stopped increasing) as it becomes more common.

On the other hand, you could say that the only reason divorce rates are getting lower is because marriage rates have been plummeting and we're seeing more cass of unmarried parents raising children, which are pretty much about to become single parent households.
