I do agree that if you are overweight or you clearly need to do some grooming then its up to you 100%, but vast majority of incels I see aren't like this. They have normal BMI and are regularly groomed, and they take care of their hygiene.
As for the personality part, core personality can't actually be changed. And notoriusly, people with bad personality disorders also have no problems finding partners, despite these people genuinely being manipulative, evil, callous, cold, calculating, violent, etc. Men like this have no problem finding women. I'd say they have less problems finding women than your average man even
