I downloaded RDR2 on my PS5, the 30fps didnt bother me that much, only in first person mode

I can't speak about consoles, but poorcels are used to 30 fps on PC :cryfeels:

If pc niggers didn’t have their specs showing on their screen they wouldn’t even notice the difference

over for lowendgamercels

I don’t mind 30fps in games don’t know why everyone was complaining that gta 6 was only going to be 30fps lol

It's ok for slow paced games

Not that bad in mumbai

Depends on the type of game. RDR is playable at 30, a game where timing is important that is miserable.

Playing a shooting game on 30 fps is painful.

same with the older dark souls games. it makes some of the combat instances a fucking nightmare.

I can notice in all games. I remember the first time i tried Heroes of The Storm, then i didn't know why but i felt the game was "slow", and even felt some anger and light head ache. Then i looked at the graphics settings and saw they were in "good". I changed it to "low" and PUM, the game feels totally different, all the bad feelings i had before disapeared and i can finally enjoy the game. Probably it was running at 30 fps, and with the graphics downgrade, at 60.

When i played games like Zelda Twilight Princess when young, didn't feel all that shit even when it was on 30 fps, i don't know if it is because its way slower and easier game and you don't move the camera that much, or maybe the 30 fps where more stable, i don't know.

Anyone who drops from normally playing at 100+ FPS to 30 FPS would immediately tell the difference. Newer monitors that can do 360 FPS and such are diminished returns and only for sweats, though.

back in the day that's pretty much all we had

i can def tell 30 from 60, 60 from 120 a little but beyond that my eyes are too slow to notice

I agree. I'm playing gta online and it's story on a ps4 slim and the combat feels very slow and unbearable to a degree

Question if a game can't run at 60 fps how come they don't try for 45 fps since it's not as much as 60 but better than 30 fps?

It's the standard since older TVs (I think anything before HDMI 2) didn't have adaptive refresh rates. They could only run at 60hz, so if it was something like 45hz, there could noticeable fluctuations and screen tearing. 30hz works because the frame stays on screen twice.

I remember pirating 50 fps PAL games back in the day and they ran terribly and you couldn't time anything, this was why.

Oh ok thanks

Irritating and hard to go back to once you've played double that or even more.

As long as the 30 fps is constant and consistent (frame timing) the gameplay will be smooth.

As a former poorcel I was playing, for exmaple, GTA V on an AMD A10-7870K with the fastest possible ram.

I had everything set to low except for pedestrian density, variety and traffic density. Those were maxed.

I played at 720p and I first observed what the lowest framerate would be, regardless of hom much action there was on screen.

Anywhere, except for one specific spot, the game would never drop below 36 fps.
So I locked it to 35 fps.

That one area was close to Trevors' house. For some reason the framerate there would drop to 28 on that machine and I have noticed it on faster machines as well.

The CPU portion was always close to 100% and the iGPU was always maxed.

I had a blast still. 100%ed the game like that.

Wrong. You do notice it. I have both, consoles and PCs.

Human eyes can, factually process and more than 300 fps.

At least that's what I've learned in computer sciences.

Because american TVs are for NTSC signal afaik whereas EU TVs are for PAL signal.

Higher refresh rate but lower resolution vs lower refresh rate but higher resolution.

I don't mind 30fps but stuttering makes me go crazy

I don't mind 30fps in story games or slower paced games but shooter games i think it makes a big difference

I don't mind it on old games but no new games should be releasing at 30fps, it should be left in the past. We've reached a point where graphics look good enough and the focus should be shifted to gameplay.

30fps on old games is ok it's 25fps and under that is cancer
