Do competitive online games still hold your interest? Or do you play single player?

Single player mostly. I play games like Starbound,Terraria Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet which has strong emphasis on multiplayer, but I prefer to just play alone.

Not 25 for a few months, but I've been trying out Morrowind multiplayer. Seems to work pretty well.
I'm not of that age yet, but I'm guessing they play Quake single player or ZDoom.
I retrogame in a range of 10 years. Mostly PS3 games.

You really can't beat it. They don't make games like Quake anymore (for real though, not trying to make a 30 year old boomer meme thing).
I played through the new Doom game recently. That was really fun. I play VR boxing a lot. Punch!

For the most part yeah I think games are quite bland these days. I mean compare Quake 2 to CoD. That being said there are sometimes similar games, like the new Doom titles.

Only game I really play with any frequency today is Overwatch. I would like to play a story driven game, but none of them really keep my interest anymore.
I just brought the VR game "IronWolf" today and I absolutely love it.
Seems like it'll be fun, but I can see it being totally like star trek: bridge crew. Fun as fuck when people are new to the game, but boring when everyone knows precisely what to do in every mission. I think I may have missed the boat (heh) with this game as I havent been able to find any randos to play with. There was one dude who joined , though. He just did a curtsey, gave me a VR hi-five, fucked with my navigation and left. Was pretty weird.

I don't have the time for competitive online as much as I did five years ago, though I did find enough time to make gold in league last year, high plat in heroes of the storm before blizzard pulled developer support and when overwatch came out I was plat during like the second or third season. These days I mostly play dark souls 1 remastered and far cry 4.
