You misunderstand. It was horrific. My own father did it, and every single day I wake up and my throat feels sticky and salty. My entire childhood was skewed by it. Due to that and a few other factors, I attempted to take my own life at 13, and again at 17, upon which I was institutionalized. However I've also experienced a lot of PHYSICAL pain before—when I was 14 I had a kidney stone due to excessive salt consumption—and I can reasonably say that no, SA is not more painful than being eaten alive.

With SA, you can heal. You can grow, be strong, and one day you can look at the picture of the person who did it and spit on it. And though it takes a toll mentally, you at least have all your fingers and toes, your limbs, etc. Eaten alive, though? Congratulations. You have maybe 5 minutes to live, but it won't feel like five minutes. It will feel like an eternity, choking on your own viscera as pieces of you go missing and you have ZERO control over the situation, over anything. There will be no recovery. There will be no hospital, no therapy, no path forward. The short rest of your life would be inescapable torture more painful than anything you've ever lived through.

Just because I'm able to look at such a hypothetical logically doesn't mean that my experience "wasn't that bad", thank you.
