Having grown up in the 90s and 2000s I felt a lot of pressure to talk to girls. At times I was pressured into cold approaching, and at others pressured into meeting girls through my social circle.
My parents and other relatives made fun of me for being socially inept and "afraid to talk to girls," when I was really just insecure about my looks, and rightfully so.
None of the guys in my family were attractive but they thought they were better because they'd had girlfriends before. I didn't want a girlfriend though, I wanted to be attractive
Am I wrong in my suspicion that boys and young men today don't feel this kind of pressure to get girls? Since 2010 it seems to be more acceptable to simply opt out of the game.
