Which is an impossibility anyway, since the line will end sooner or later. Furthermore, I'm not my parents, in fact I have very little in common with them, so the idea that "some piece of myself will live on within my children" is even more laughably stupid. Most parents are low key narcissists, which makes sense, since most humans typically score moderately high in narcissism.

Although the fear of death probably plays a significant role too, as explained by terror management theory.

Having kids is not easy.
1.You first have to get a worthy female so you won't product incels in case you have sons.
2. You have to wageslave to provide for your wife and hope that she doesn't cuck you.
3. In case she forces you to get married to have kids, you risk getting a divorce.
4. Withing a few generations your genetic contribution will get diluted.
5. You'll be competing with Chads and Tyrones who will have a lot of kids with different women without providing a cent. You on the other hand will have fewer kids than them, providing much more than they ever will and still not get the appreciation you deserve.
