That's some status shit, having friends and gf, but this comes down to looks as well. As a Chad, you're always welcomed, even when you don't have friends/gf (impossible to not have a gf being Chad, tbh tbh), when you're ugly, you may swear to them that you have friends, you won't be accepted anyway.
