So true. Discussion on the internet is pure brainrot nowadays. Reddit is probably the best normie site when it comes to intelligent conversation, but even then you have to sift through the infinite amounts of soy and retardation just to find it. I think the problem might stem from everyone being involved in conversations that they're not meant to be involved in. Everyone has such a strong voice and opinion about everything nowadays, even people who are far too stupid to add anything to the discussion. As a result we see all of the retarded brainrot pushed to the top of every thread as long as it makes normies feel good, meanwhile a comment that cites multiple sources and explains the topic in detail will be buried if it makes the normies feel bad.

I feel like the discussion of these topics used to have more structure, where it would be a group of intellectuals who all have their facts in order, who then proceed to have a civil debate. The problem is that normies and people who are even dumber than normies are the ones who are in control of our discussions. Everyone is developing their own retarded biased opinion from hours of scrolling tiktok.
