Repost but I am still uncertain if I should invest in a gaming laptop or not. I have a year off where I will be working but have ZERO social interaction besides my dad. I am mid twenties and gaming used to be my favorite hobby. I always wanted to get into an MMORPG. tried WoW during Cata and it was lonely and the combat was boring. Recently played fighting games (smash/sfiv) and those were great experiences, but I am isolated now, so I need a game/games.

Should I get a gaming laptop? I can't see any reason except WoW Classic, but what if it turns out to be boring like Cata was? It's risky AF to buy a laptop for WoW classic. please advise

Ok but can you answer? Is gaming a worthy cope for a mid 20's jaded bittercel? it's very hard to enjoy solo gaming nothing looks good

I technically have a "gaming laptop" and let me tell you, only get one if you DON'T have the space for a desktop and you move about.

I move between University and Home every couple of months so it would be inconvenient to lug around an entire desktop + monitor.
Laptop is just convenient.


However for the best performance it does need to be plugged in and they can get quite hot so ensure you place them on a flat/inclined hard surface.

yeah its worth, every cope which can distract you from pathetic life is good but i never tried WOW, CS:GO and CS1.6 used to be good cope for me.

It's a decent cope. Just dont go off spending in the excess of £1000 on a gaming laptop when you could buy a better desktop for that price.

I am considering getting a cheap gaming laptop basically only for WoW classic. I have no plan to ever play retail though. smart or dumb? Any other game that is worth it long term?

If there's a choice, always get a desktop. Far more bang for you buck. Gaming laptops serve no purpose. Battery life is nonexistent, they are heavy and cumbersome to move around (besides, as an incel, where are you going?) and cost about three times as much as a desktop PC for equal performance. I don't see the point.
