Depends upon the outcome, it's yet to be determined. Or at least we can't say for certain that it's entirely bad.

Even though I'd agree that humans have a greater capacity for suffering than animals, the reality is that countless animals are eaten alive everyday, starve to death, and generally live horrible lives. This has been occurring since long before we ever existed, and it's completely pointless. If our presence eventually causes life on this planet to become impossible, intentionally or not, then maybe our plight won't be entirely in vain. But it's not much of a comfort tbh.

However on an individual level, then my answer is yes.
