I've always wanted to go on the Antarctica Peninsula south of the Falklands in January. It doesn't get dangerously cold there like most of Antarctica. A true desert there with very little precip, sunny all the time. It must be beautiful (and blinding). There's no better setting than a snowy ground muffling everything and dead silence.
