As an oldcel, I have two main memories of porn becoming mainstream:

The second memory was back in the year 2010, when I was a in my second year at university. I was in a Political Science 101 class, and a foid randomly admitted to watching porn on her phone. She said, “I watch porn on my phone”, since back then people were just starting to watch porn more often on their phones rather than a laptop or desktop computer.

That’s why I find Reddit posts like this complaining that, “I went through his phone and found porn” to be so annoying.
