I've never tried it tbh. I think i wouldn't gag since i've eaten raw rotten meat many times. I'm more afraid of the toxins in the fish and the can. I think it would be very salty too.

That's the stinky swedish fermented fish right, I remember it was a trend on jewtube years back to try and eat it. Most people couldn't even get past the smell when just opening the can jfl.

Yea. Alot of people in Japan also eat processed garbage from konbinis, like many people in the west they have strayed from their ancestral eating. I guess not everyone can afford to eat sashimi everyday too.

It's fairly common for fermented food to explode. Same thing happens when i ferment milk with a lid on it.
