Computers in Human Behavior"Social interaction is defined as an exchange between two or more individuals and is a building block of society. By interacting with one another, people design rules, institutions and systems within which they seek to live. Considering the social interaction residing in the IoB (Internet of Behaviours) and big data content, opportunities are emerging to enable promising smart application for easing individual or group peers' needs, creating company business models, and facilitating smart life development. However, the nature of AI also poses fundamental challenges to the techniques and applications relying on the social big data from multiple perspectives, such as algorithm effectiveness, computation speed, energy efficiency, user privacy, user trust, server security, data heterogeneity and system scalability."
Soyocial interaction, the most fundamental human activity for a person's mental health. Many want it and many hate it, but it is inevitable even for the most isolated in society. Like many in this forum.
Well, with the advancement of artificial intelligence and the infamous ChatGPT, some "data engineers"

had a brilliant idea.
Why not train an AI to have romantic and even SEXUAL relationships with a person? It would be the perfect cure for the loneliness and isolation we have today and that was super enhanced by the 2020 pandemic.
Obviously at first glance, this is beneficial. A perfect companion, obedient, enthusiastic, never gets tired, never ages, always sexually active... You know.
Would you date one? I mean seriously. There are people, maybe not many, but some, that are completely ugly/deformed/burned etc. Some of them have other good features like being tall or muscular, or even while being deformed, burned or crippled they still have good facial features. -
But for most people in that situation, they just stay lonely forever
At least with an AI, they'd have someone to listen to them, reassure them, etc. A sophisticated enough AI, one we'll have in a few years, will 100% be like the perfect customizable companion for a person.
Not to mention old people, people with social disabilities, etc. People who would benefit from having someone who is infinitely patient and infinitely willing to listen. People in those situations are often ignored and put aside simply because for the average person, they are labeled as weird.
But this has consequences that massively outweigh the benefits.
This is also involved with porn addiction.
Porn addiction, also known as compulsive pornography consumption, has significant psychological, social, and physiological consequences. The involvement of AI companions in this context can worsen these issues.
Here's a link with several consequences of porn addiction since pasting them here would make this thread 500% larger and too big for dnrcels https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3050060/
