You're assuming things would turn out better if they let you for yourself when you were less than 13. There was no guarantee it would turn out well. lol the universe is random af. You could have died in a car accident or get gang raped by pedophiles or something. They did a great job protecting you from the harsh world outside.

They could have encouraged you to do sports, give some money and be a little more independent though ngl
