A few decades ago I refused surgery that had a 60% chance of working, but had a 40% chance of turning me into a stupid and uglier version of Steven Hawking!
I was homeless at the time and felt I had really bad luck. However. I knew a Chadlite that had the surgery and he survived and did ok. But he had friends homes to recover at and I didn't. I still don't.
Since then I've heard surgical horror stories. Tools left inside to infect. Super staph. Wrong surgeries done. Poor anaesthesia waking up screaming... Just generally bad stuff.
Personally. I'm glad I didn't do it. But sometimes I wonder. The pain is pretty bad but at least I can still walk and do stuff.
It's American welfare neetbuxx insurance that would pay for it so you can be sure I would have got the best care possible. Jfl.
