I mean, what's the point of trying to approach women on the street if they don't want it anyway.

Rule of street:
If you look good and the woman finds you likeable, she will be happy to keep talking.
If you are not her type at all, it already borders on harassment that you have politely addressed. or the person simply runs on as if you were air.
