I think I’ve heard that term since I was 15. And yeah, incels are technically a minority, but only if you count those who self-identify that way. There are tons of guys who are single and have no female contact, even if they don’t use the label. The issue is way bigger than just incels on a forum.

I don’t know if you know this, but Google Trends only shows the popularity of search terms within Google’s own search engine.
I checked it myself and it shows the searches starting around 2022, but Google Trends doesn’t track how often a term is used or mentioned in forums or websites, just how often it’s searched.
