In my opinion, this would be an ideal move for people around the world to give up the remnants of their national sovereignty to the world economic forum in order to protect them from an alien invasion.

yeah, it was completely infeasible, and even if it wasn't enemy combatants would realize that its trickery right away.
What's actually scary is the alleged voice of god weapon, which makes you hear voices; but tbf an LRAD is more feasible and doesn't rely on the victim's psychology to be effective
